Month 6 – Digital Marketing (June 2020)

*You have stayed with me half way through. Thank you*

I have gotten to the half of my school year at Full Sail University, and what more can I say besides “It has been great!” A lot has been slowed down due to COVID-19, but that does not stop life from going on with this overachiever. Despite the slowdown on things, there has been an evolution in my life. I have grown and have also being able to achieve personal goals for my life.

At first, I did not like having classes online, but now I like it, because, I have been able to adapt to situations. I like the adaptability phase of the human cycle, because that is where learning occurs, and you find out your flexibility curve as a person.

As a part of the learning that occurred, I learned how to be a successful Digital Marketer. And just like every other class before this, I set my goals. My goals for this class were, (and in no specific order) to:

• Know how to market my company and the artist to our target audience.

• Improve social media presence and learn how to be more organized with social media.

• Learn how to make digital campaigns especially with the promotion of the artist.

• Understand SEO better and use it towards employment opportunities.

And to my amazement, my objectives have been met. When I started this class, I did not know who my target audience would be. And due to the lessons from this class, I have a clearer perspective on not just my target audience, but also on how to create awareness on my company. This class gave me a better insight on my marketing goals and helped narrow the thoughts of the company which I plan on applying to real life scenarios.

Social Media is an effective tool when managed the right way, can yield positive results.

It has been really great learning Digital Marketing. This class helps you determine the objective of your digital campaign, which is a possibility one of these four things: Awareness, Education, Engagement and Action. From this class, I was able to pick that Relevance is more vital than Popularity, because with Relevance, you could gain popularity, and you could be popular and not relevant, thereby wasting time. Also, from this class, value of time and customers adds to the effectiveness of Digital Marketing. I know this class would have been better if things were done in class because I would have gotten the one-on-one experience between student and professor.

I plan on using the lessons learned in this class towards my career skills. I can add to my resume that I understand the nitty-gritty of Digital Marketing, and Data Analytics using the essential tools needed to determine the analysis. I also plan on using these lessons on my company and the artists I manage. No lesson from this class was futile. This class does not need to be overthought, it is a real breeze, and also, it helps if you have your own plans so that one could use the lessons learned in the class to help foster your plans to a better direction. Always ask questions, there are no dumb questions…

Dr Spellman, your help is very much appreciated. Thank you for your time, and the value you give to your students.

Lessons learned from this class are still relevant. Marketing is forever evolving, you need to belong.
